Melancholy, my friend.

Melancholy, my friend.
You live under my skin,
and surface in the end.

Never leave me alone,
for I barely bend.
So when all the veils are gone,
you always come around,
in the end.
Melancholy, my friend.

You know me well already,
My kind hates you much,
but for myself, I can fend,
Melancholy, my friend.

I'd spend my entire life with you,
if I had not, this sly mistress called love,
She comes in the middle,
goes away before the end,
and thats when I'm all yours,
Melancholy, my friend.

The Insatiable Hunger.

A common error in the minds of people, is their acceptance of Happiness and Contentment, as one and the same. But I've learnt, its not. Contentment. Contentment is something we feel when we obtain something which we have craved for long. It could also be a much anticipated event. Or a long-awaited person. But contentment requires a need to be fulfilled. Whereas, on the other hand, Happiness is not so demanding. We can feel happy even if we are lost in the darkest place on the planet. Or when nothing is working out in our life. You can make yourself feel happy. You don't NEED anything to be happy. Sometimes "MONEY" stands at the thin line between Happiness and Contentment. You gain one, you lose another. Your call. But neither is permanent.

I have discovered a bizarre truth tonight. As long as you are of sound body, mind and soul, you are the most strongly connected to the material world, and the people around us. Of what I could gather by fluttering through bitter memories, is that, the more we are connected to the 'World' we live in, stronger is our hunger ; The Insatiable Hunger. The farther we wander off from 'believed-sanity', the easier it becomes to suppress this hunger. For this, meditate. Meditation refers to any practice of an individual which trains his mind or induces a mode of consciousness in order to realize some benefits.

Do not confuse this 'hunger' with greed. Greed is satiable. This hunger is not.

I think its time I tell you what I think it is.

When a child is going through education, alongside of subjective education, he is also educated about WHAT he is studying FOR. Instead of letting him decide his objective in the world, he is fed with the universal 'truth'. "Study and Work for your success". And yes. This hunger is inherited ; if not by blood, then by brain, and guidance. We all are taught to fight and achieve what we deserve. Earn a comfortable living. etc etc... But we are never taught when to STOP this fight for success and achievement. Yes. Think about it.

Hence, The Insatiable Hunger, by which we grow.

We don't know where to draw the line.

Moral of the day : Chase something even if you know you can never have it. Its worth the chase.
At least you don't regret not trying.
